3rd Line IT Support Engineer

Position

We are looking for a full-time 3rd Line IT Support Engineer. You will be based from our head office in Chippenham, Wiltshire with flexible working from home available. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced IT Support Engineer to become the next integral part of our rapidly expanding team and business. Working as a key escalation point for the ITIL aligned Service Desk team, while incorporating exciting opportunities for project and infrastructure work.

Who you are

Excellent customer service is at the heart of what we do – we are seeking a proven technical professional with a methodical approach to problem-solving who is equipped with the skills and ability to deliver service at the extremely high standard our customers rightfully expect from us. We specifically look for individuals that can explain technical concepts simply and concisely, with a “can do” attitude. 

You will be an exceptional helpdesk professional, who is willing to learn from others and educate the more junior members of the team, while striving to benefit and add value for our customers. You will be keen to learn and progress and willing to study for industry recognised qualifications. 

Essential skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills and telephone manner,
  • Three years’ experience working on a service desk, 
  • Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019,
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP,
  • Office 365 & Azure (migration, deployment management),
  • Managing wired & wireless networks, including switches, routers, firewalls (including VLANs, STP, LACP),
  • Secure networking, VPNs, ACL, IPS, IDS, and
  • Technical backup and disaster recovery. 

Desirable skills

  • Microsoft Azure / Office 365 / Modern Desktop certifications,
  • Experience with VMware / Hyper-V hypervisors, and
  • Microsoft Security (EMS, ATP, Intune).

Salary

£35,000 – £40,000 DOE 

Your working week will consist of 37.5 hour per week Mon-Fri. Due to the nature of this role, some work at weekends and outside of normal hours may be required. Travel to customer sites will also be required, so please only apply if you have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. 

This role requires a DBS and BPSS check.
