What are these certifications and why are they important?

Head of Service, Andi Wright, has spent time over the last few months supporting Mintivo in achieving ISO 27001 and 9001 certifications. That hard work has paid off and we’re proud to share that we’re on track to achieve both of these incredibly valuable certifications next month.  

We have been working with ACM Cert to implement all of the necessary policies and processes to achieve these certifications and with so many of us now working from home for at least part of the working week, it’s more important than ever to ensure security. We explore the benefits of both ISO certifications below. 

ISO 27001

ISO 27001 is all about security. Keeping data safe and protecting against breaches. We offer security related services such as our free Cyber Essentials Audit, so it makes sense that we would demonstrate that we as a business are doing all we can to ensure our own data security and that of our customers.  

Security includes data held within systems regarding staff members and customers – so this isn’t just about customer data. The framework aims to prevent or eliminate the chance of a breach, which could be anything from a cyber-attack to a simple error. The criteria for the security element is set at an international standard, so it doesn’t matter if you trade within the UK, Europe or worldwide. 

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is concerned with commitment to quality and is another internationally- recognised standard.  With a clear framework of principles, the certification acts as a blueprint for effective and efficient quality and processes, with a customer focus. It’s no secret that we strive to provide the highest level of customer service, whether we deliver one-off projects and/or ongoing services, so this is a natural step for us in terms of process improvement, risk management and compliance.

By obtaining the above certifications, we will be able to provide an additional layer of reassurance to all current and potential customers, team members and suppliers and our team of experts will be able to meet the prerequisites of larger tenders and contracts, with evidence that security and quality standards are consistently being met and improved upon.
