Five years ago, online conference calls were the exception. They required expensive hardware, unwieldy software, and a good experience was not always guaranteed. The recent global pandemic, with the requirement to stay socially distanced and work from home, changed all that. Now online conference calls are the norm and there are a myriad of options for hosting them successfully on ordinary PCs and laptops. Google Meet is a video conferencing app, a more business-focused version of Google Hangout. You can host up to 30 users in a high-definition meeting, which can be joined directly from a calendar entry. Users can also join by dialling in if no internet connection is available. Google Meet is excellent for personal or small business use and integrates with G Suite versions of Google Calendar and Gmail. Prices start from \u2018free\u2019, for individuals, and there are a wide range of pricing plans depending on your business needs, such as call duration, number of users and online storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaming up with Microsoft Teams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft Teams is both a comprehensive video conferencing app and a collaboration platform. As you might expect, it integrates seamlessly with the entire Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Microsoft Teams is aimed at businesses, rather than individuals. Teams requires a dedicated app to get the best use from it. Teams also has a basic free offering for very small businesses, with a range of further price points if you need more functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
